You Can't Help Who You Love Page 2
“What the fuck is going on?! I’m NOT leaving my car!” Halee screamed at them and I agreed. Shit, they were brand fucking new. Someone wouldn’t hesitate to break into them.
“Calm the hell down; we taking y’all back to get y’all cars after shit die down,” one of the guys told us. We said nothing as we sat back and took in the outside breeze. Before I knew it, we were pulling up into a nice sized condo. “Ok y’all, we gone get out and y’all are going to get out ya fucking feelings. We had some fellas we know tow y’all car, so they will be here in a minute,” the one who snapped on us said.
We shook our heads and headed inside the house. It was like a fucking game room; they had everything from a game box to a Ps4 in here. Being that I had brothers, I immediately wanted to turn on the PS4 and started playing 2K. Halee sat beside me watching. Being that my father and my brothers were in the game, I knew I had to watch my surroundings. So, I was on my P’s and Q’s.
“Yo, y’all want something to drink?” the other one asked.
“Nah, we good. We don’t know y’all and we don’t know what kinda shit y’all on!” I snapped for both of us. You could never be too comfortable in these kinds of situation. For all I knew, we were with the enemy and that’s why I was so hell bent on leaving here. My phone started ringing and it was my father. Figuring that he heard about the shoot out, I shot him a quick text telling him we were fine and hanging out with some friends. I didn’t want him causing himself to have a heart attack, so I played it cool.
“Aight, well let’s get to know one another then,” one said. I took his appearance in. He was light skin with a nicely cut fade. He was tatted up like crazy and you could tell he had money. This nigga had on True Religion everything. His sneakers looked like they had just came out of the box. I would’ve flirted, but he wasn’t my type so, Halee would have him, if that case arrived.
“Well, my name is Miracle and this is my best friend more like sister, Halee,” I told him.
“Your turn,” Halee said, laughing.
“Aight, my name is Marquis and this quiet muthafucker right here is Dallas,” Marquis said. I looked over at the quiet one and lord, I’m not lying, but my heart skipped a beat. Baby was fine as hell. He had some back length dreads that looked to be freshly twisted and like Quis, he was tatted, but he had more. They were all on his neck. His eyes were dark grey and they fit perfectly against his dark skin; he looked like the man who played on Creed. Yeah, the boxer, only with dreads though. So, you know he was fine.
“Ok, we feel that,” Halee said, talking like a true black girl. I laughed at her before stealing another glance at Dallas. He caught me staring but when he did, he didn’t even break his glare.
“Let me holla at you, Ms. Halee,” Quis said, noticing Dallas and I’s attraction. They walked outside, leaving me and Dallas in here looking crazy as hell.
“How old are you?” his deep baritone voice caused my panties to start seeping with my juices.
I cleared my throat and pressed my thighs together before answering. “I’m 18, my birthday is July 19th,” I told him. “What about you?” I asked, sending the question right back at his ass.
“I’m 23, just turned 23,” he stated back. Before I knew it, we were engaged in a full conversation over a game of 2k. Yeah, I had given in and I was beating his ass, might I add. Halee and Marquis came back in and you could tell they were feeling one another. Our cars had been towed here almost three hours ago. I looked at the time and saw that it was damn near 3 o’clock in the morning. Nobody had texted me, and that was a
good sign.
“Well fellas. It’s time for us to be out,” I said, standing up. All I wanted to do was take a nice ass shower and get into my California king size.
“Aw man, already?” Dallas asked me.
“Yeah, I know you tired of me beating ya ass anyways,” I said, smirking at him.
“No, bro. Let me find out she kicking ya ass!” Quis yelled, throwing a pillow at him. “But seriously though, do y’all really have to go? It’s already late as hell. No need to disrespect ya parents’ home. Just tell em y’all stayed with a friend,” Quis said. I knew my father trusted me, so he wouldn’t be mad if I didn’t come home one night. I looked at Halee and laughed. She had already kicked her shoes off and was leaning back in the chair, causing all of us to laugh.
“White girl cool as fuck I see,” Dallas said, laughing.
“Uh, hell nah. Ain’t none of those white girl names, call me by my real name. You don’t see me calling yo ass lil blackey!” she shot back, making us laugh even harder. I was enjoying their time. But I wouldn’t think too much into it. For the remainder of the night, we got to know the fellas more and they got to know us. By time I knew it, it was nine o’clock, so I knew it was time to go. We exchanged numbers and parted ways. As soon as I stepped out the shower and my head hit my pillow, I was out like a light.

I was exhausted as hell. So tired, that I didn’t change clothes or anything. I hopped in my bed, placed my phone on do not disturb, and was out!!! I woke up to the maid knocking on the door. I didn’t know why she was here. I didn’t care for her and knew she didn’t care for me. She always called me a spoiled brat. I mean, I was but damn. Bitch, you ain’t here to judge me. You’re here to clean up. So do ya fucking job without the complaints. I looked at my phone and saw that it was 3 in the evening. I jumped up and swung open my door. “I’m up, damn.”
“My apologies Ms. Snootie,” she shot back. You see what I was talking about? Fuck her though. I wasn’t in the mood to be sharing words with her, so I kept it moving. I hopped in my shower and relaxed against the walls. I was drained. Seriously. I headed downstairs and was more than surprised to see my parents in the kitchen eating breakfast; they were never home and I embraced having the house to myself. I also wanted some family time from the ones who birthed me. “Hey mommy, daddy,” I said, kissing both of their cheeks. “No work today? Usually y’all would’ve been up and out by now,” I said to them.
“Nope, daddy has to work, but I don’t. I wanted to spend time with you today,” my mom told me. I was happy that she was actually taking the time out to spend some time with me and I wasn’t complaining. “Shopping, on me?” she asked. I wasted no time telling her ass yes. I ran upstairs to prepare myself for this outing that I never really had with my mother. After I washed up and straightened my hair, I was throwing on some clothes. After settling on a tight fitting sundress and some sandals, I was ready to go!
“Yes sir, I will be there shortly.” I heard my mother saying. That happy feeling that I once had was now gone because I knew that our time together wouldn’t happen. Pretending not to know what was going on, I walked inside of the dining room where my mom was placing things in her briefcase. I knew she loved her job, but sometimes, I wanted her to love me, her child, more.
“Lee-”
“Its fine, I completely understand. When y’all job call, y’all won’t hesitate to leave me hanging, go ahead,” I said, turning my back.
“Everything we do is for you, princess,” she told me.
“I know that but, sometimes, can you and daddy just be there for me instead of work? Sometimes, I need my parents and the way y’all are always leaving me makes me feel like y’all love y’all job more,” I said, letting my true feelings out. I was hurt.
“We will have this talk when I come home,” she said, cutting me off to leave. I stood there, just dazed. I couldn’t believe she opted out on me and actually left me here talking to myself. I loved them, but it made me resent them a little. In the beginning, they made sure to do everything with me, but now that I’m older, I guess they feel like it doesn’t really matter. Yes, they bought me a car and I appreciate that, but I would rather have them here with me. I didn’t need the car; I needed my parents. I pushed the thought out of my head after letting some tears drop. I wouldn’t sit in here and mop around; it was a nice day and I wanted to be out and about enjoying it.

e I was already dressed, I decided to go and wake Miracle up, so we could go to the mall. Shopping was like therapy to me. Second nature. It was summer time and I was ready to summer shop and be out looking cute. It wasn’t a day that went by that anyone could say I left out my home looking like a bum. Ew, just wasn’t happening. Everyone thought just because I was white, I wasn’t with the foolery. But, believe me, I am. Being that Miracle and I’s family was close before they started working so hard, her dad had us in boxing since we were little. I appreciated that. He always told me, if I was running with his daughter, then I would know how to defend myself too if anything ever popped off. So, we knew everything. There wasn’t a gun, that we couldn’t handle, not a fight that we couldn’t win. Thank God it hadn’t ever came down to it.
I glanced at my small frame in my mirror and admired myself. I was indeed ON! I had medium sized breasts and a fat ass ASS! Everyone thought just because my dad was a plastic surgeon that my ass was fake. But no boo, this was all me and I had no problems showing that. Whereas Miracle was more laid back, I was the partygoer. I thrived off attention and everything else. No, I’m not a hoe. But, I’m damn sure not naive as hell. I have had my fair share of flings, (all with black boys, of course) but I knew what to do and what not to do. Very FEW niggas could say that they’ve had me. If you lied on your dick, then I shamed your ass! My mind wandered to Quis and I must admit, daddy was LIT! He was fine from every angle. We talked about everything last night. I could admit; I was feeling him. He told me everything except what his occupation was. I kinda had a feeling of what it was. But hey, that’s his business and not mine. He made sure to tell me he had a two-year-old daughter name Nicole. The baby mother was crazy, like most. He told me, she run off every girl he come in contact with but, she had another thing coming if she was gone try to run me off. Girl please!
I finally walked outside and headed to Miracle’s. When I rang the doorbell, I was greeted by Carter. Nobody knows but us, but he took my virginity when I was 16. I used to be so in love with him, but he never gave me the chance because I was younger than he was. That was a petty ass excuse. But I’m too fly to be chasing down a nigga who only wanted what he could get from me. So, I chalked it up as a loss and kept moving. Some days it bothered me because Miracle and I talked about everything, but that’s something that I avoid telling her because I know she wouldn’t like it. “Miracle up?” I asked him, keeping all convo short.
“Yeah,” he said, looking like he wanted to say more, but I took the initiative to push pass him and head on upstairs. I heard her in the room singing along with Tink. That girl loved some her some Tink.
“Mall time?” I asked her, walking into her room.
“I knew yo ass was coming, so hell yea. I could use a new bag or two,” she said back, smiling. We headed outside and got the surprise of our life. There stood Dallas and Marquis outside talking with Justin and Carter. We gave one another the wtf look and kept it moving. I hadn’t heard from Quis yet and from the looks of things, she hadn’t heard from Dallas either. We caught them staring at us, but we kept pushing. We climbed into her car and pulled off blasting Rich Sex by Future.
“Girl, what the fuck?!” I asked her.
“Girl, I don’t know... your guess is just as good as mine.” We talked more about the crazy situation before we ended up talking these clowns up.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Yo, where y’all headed? We need to talk?” Quis’ deep voice came into my speaker. It made me want to tell Miracle to turn around, so I could see what that mouth do. I giggled to myself before telling him we were headed to the mall.
“Looks like we will have some company today,” I told her while smiling. We stepped in the mall, breaking necks like no other. We literally were stinking; we were the SHIT, in other words. We were walking out of Nordstrom’s when the guys walked up to us, looking better than they did last night.
“Why you didn’t tell me Justin and Carter was your brothers?” Dallas asked Miracle, grabbing her waist.
“You didn’t ask!” she shot back.
“Still, I told you about me; yet, you didn’t tell me about you. Well, you did but obviously not enough!” he barked at her. We looked at one another and cocked our heads.
“We gone talk another day because right now, it’s obvious you got me fucked up with someone else,” she said, walking away with me right behind her.
“M, hold up! I wasn’t saying it like that, but I was saying. You could’ve told me they were your brothers; we work with them.” Ooooo, so that’s what they do. They went back and forth trailing us into every store we went into.
“No the fuck you ain’t in here following behind this bitch when yo daughter at home waiting on your trifling ass!” Some girl walked up snapping. I immediately pushed my purse back on my shoulder. If she came with the bullshit, then I was beating her ass like a child in this bitch. Miracle and I both stood there ready for whatever. That’s why she was my girl. We had one another’s backs and I loved her for that.
“Man, Toya, take yo ass home while you out here acting a fucking fool; where the fuck is Nicole?” Quis barked at her.
“I’m not taking my ass nowhere unless you leaving with me. Don’t test me Marquis, you know how I’m rocking!” she said, glaring at me. I stared her back down. She wasn’t intimidating shit.
“Come on girl, let’s go,” I told Miracle. I wasn’t in the mood for the bullshit and I wasn’t fighting nobody, especially over a nigga who wasn’t mine to begin with, yeah. She could have that.
“Yeah little white girl, carry your ass on!” she snapped at me, pointing her index finger. See, this that bullshit. I was just saying how I haven’t had to bless anyone but let’s let this be the first. Before she could blink, I had popped her in the face, causing her nose to leak instantly.
“Don’t let this little white girl fool you, boo; I can rock wit the best of them. Don’t you forget that! Quis, call me. Oh, and bitch, now that you’ve tried me about someone I’m not even with, I will be sure to fuck his ass to sleep, all because you couldn’t control your emotions.” I laughed back, stepping away. I was taught to never turn my back to an enemy.
“Girl, what the fuck!” Miracle asked.
“I didn’t want to do it, but she asked for it. You know I don’t like nobody fucking with me about my race. So what I’m white?! Damn, that shit annoys me! Anyways, I’m hungry. You wanna grab so Captain D’s and head home?” I asked her.
“Hell yeah!” she said back. That was our favorite place to eat; we fucked with it. After grabbing our food, we headed back to my house to blow some. Being that both of my parents was at work, I knew they wouldn’t be home anytime soon, so I took that as the initiative to roll up in the living room. My phone was constantly vibrating. Seeing that it was Quis, I ignored every call and message. I would deal with him when I was ready. I turned on Love and Hip Hop, and we sat back eating and blowing trees.
“Tara so damn dumb; why is she pregnant again by Peter, knowing he ain’t gone change. Let me guess… THE KIDS!” Miracle said, causing me to start laughing.
“Girl, ain’t that the truth and let “The Shade Room” on Facebook tell it, Amina ass is pregnant too. Let me find out Peter’s penis is blessed with gold because HONEY! They be trippin’!” I said back. We sat there talking about dumb and dumber until we were high and sleepy. After I cleaned up, I came back to see Miracle knocked out. I climbed back on the couch and dozed off right beside her.
Marquis
Seeing little Halee bust Toya’s shit open had me harder than a fucking brick. Nobody I have dealt with, or hell, even tried to deal with has ever tried stepping to her. Halee changed all that shit today. I respected her. Don’t get me wrong. I’m feeling her, so I don’t want her out here fighting, but shit. She protected herself because both Dallas and I knew Toya was going to try some fuck shit, that’s why I’m glad Halee took off on her ass first. She was so stunned that she just sat there watching her walk away. Dallas and I star
ted to leave as well, that was until she grabbed my coat trying to keep me there.
“The nerve of you to be out here with a fucking white girl; she ain’t even cute, so I know you’re just trying to fuck! Why won’t you stop trying to be a manwhore and be a real family man to your FAMILY?!” she screamed at me, causing way more attention than we just had. I ignored her ass and continued on out of the mall. Eventually, she got tired of talking, so she caught me with a swift ass, smooth ass, slap to the face. My reflex kicked in and I started to knock her ass into the middle of next year. But Dallas intervened just in time.
“Nah bro. She ain’t worth it Q; that’s exactly what she wants and I’m not letting you give her that,” he told me. “Check it, fall back Toya. We don’t have time for that bullshit today. Go home and take care of my niece why don’t ya? You don’t have to always be out here acting like a fucking clown because he was talking with someone else; shit ain’t even deeper than you think,” he told her, giving the stank look.
As this point, I wanted to get far away from this bitch as possible before I be in the county doing time for snapping her fucking neck. I tried calling Halee back to back. But she wasn’t answering. We headed to the traps that we were in charge of to make sure that shit was going smoothly. After seeing that they were, I headed on home to get a nap in and Dallas did the same. My mind went back to the way Toya showed her ass and I’m not even going to lie, I wished that she wasn’t the one who had my seed. Don’t get it twisted. I love my Nicole Danielle, but her fucking moms make shit harder than what it has to be. She wasn’t like that in the beginning and I’m starting to resent her ass for it too. When we met, she was working, in school, all that. When the money started flowing, she started changing up. She was known through the hood as Lips and that’s because she could suck a pool ball through a straw. Niggas was coming to me daily telling me the shit she had been doing and I wasn’t feeling that shit, so I cut her off. Every time I tried making shit right with another girl, she came scaring their asses off.
